Hold onto reality…constantly
On a recent hike (yes in the snow!) we could’ve panicked about those “wild animal” tracks or realized that our dog had made them right before that!🤣
We did see some deer tracks as well, but nothing to get too worried about. Knowing what’s real can help us in so many ways...if we hold onto reality.
Genesis 50:15 says, “And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.”
Genesis 50:19-21 says, “And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.”
I think Joseph was able to keep a hold on the reality that God had a plan throughout years in slavery and a dungeon.
Egypt would soon tragically enslave the people of Israel, but bitterness never enslaved Joseph.
We all need to hold onto reality during life’s ups and downs.
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 50.
*Note* Tomorrow we will start reading the book of Job as we work our way through the Old Testament chronologically.
