Dream on!
OK, I’m not really sure this ChatGPT picture is actually a dream come true (my kids don’t even look like themselves!), but I am very thankful for my family and grateful to be a pastor.
When our dreams, our ultimate goals, come from God, they really can come true. Dreams give us hope, and we need to guard that hope and those dreams wisely.
Genesis 37:5 says, “And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.”
Verses 9-11 say, “And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.”
Joseph’s brothers allowed themselves to be consumed with jealousy, and that’s on them. But Joseph could’ve been wiser about how/when he shared those dreams since they appear to elevate him above his family.
Joseph’s family would see these dreams come true, and I believe God sent these dreams to give Joseph hope for the dark, difficult years he’d face before the dreams became reality. Hope should keep us excited, keep us going.
So keep dreaming and let God show you if those dreams are truly from Him and how you should wisely let your dreams impact your daily life.
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 37.
