Don’t forget in the dark what you knew in the light

We need to hold onto what’s real. We’ve had fun trying to grab this hologram of a frog, but we can’t because it’s not real!

Sometimes it’s when circumstances get dark and difficult that we grab onto ideas that aren’t real.

Job‬ ‭7‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭says, “I have sinned; what shall I do unto thee, O thou preserver of men? Why hast thou set me as a mark against thee, So that I am a burden to myself? And why dost thou not pardon my transgression, And take away mine iniquity? For now shall I sleep in the dust; And thou shalt seek me in the morning, but I shall not be.”

‭‭

Job hadn’t sinned, but I do love that Job seems to talk more to God than to his friends here and in other chapters. We all need to go straight to God.

Job’s going through one of the darkest times imaginable. I don’t blame Job for struggling, but it is a reminder to all of us to remember what’s real no matter how dark things get.

God can see in the dark just as well as He can see in the light. He sees you. He sees what you’re going through, and He hasn’t forgotten you!

Today’s Bible reading is Job 7.
