You don’t have to be something you’re not
I’m not really sure our cat would be very good at bicycling! He is good at finding random nap spots though!
Maybe we don’t try to become something we aren’t, but all of us probably feel the pressure at times to do more than we’re capable of, to accomplish things that only God can do. That’s a pressure we can avoid.
Genesis 30:1-2 says, “And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die. And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?”
Rachel made an impossible demand of Jacob. It wasn’t up to either of them.
We don’t need to try to do what only God can do.
And we shouldn’t try to get things from people that only God can give.
Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 30.
