Walk the talk; live the life

We want Addison and Brooklyn to read more, so we’re also working on reading more, especially in front of them. It’s just a simple way to be a good example to them and have a real opportunity to encourage them to read more.

We need live a life that earns the right to speak truth into other people’s lives.

Genesis‬ ‭19‬:‭14‬ ‭says, “And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons in law, which married his daughters, and said, Up, get you out of this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.”

‭‭

Lot knew Sodom and anyone who remained in it were about to be destroyed. But apparently he had lived out his faith so seldom that it sounded strange, even funny, when he spoke about spiritual things.

We must live out our faith constantly and consistently. Only then will people take us seriously. After all, if our faith doesn’t matter that much to us, why should it matter to anyone we share it with?

Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 19.
