Sometimes you have to be precise. Sometimes not so much!

Addison and I got a kick out of this “stapler.” I’ve never used one where you just have to swing it and smack it into something for it to staple. She and I both saw some fun possibilities, but we realized it would be kind of rough work and not very accurate.

I prefer rough work over precise building work, but I’m sure glad God has an exact plan when He calls us to do something.

Genesis‬ ‭6‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭says, “And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.”

God gave Noah such an amazing design for the ark that it not only stayed afloat for a whole year and held all of those animals, but the dimensions have been used in more modern vessels such as barges as well.

God’s plans always include every detail we need to know. The question is will we follow those details?

Genesis‬ ‭6‬:‭22‬ ‭says, “Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”

‭‭

I hope that can be said about me as well!

If you’d like to read through the Old Testament with us, today’s reading is Genesis 6.
