Sometimes you can really see what’s going on!

This new flashlight Jen got me for Christmas looks especially sweet at night with some fog! You can see exactly where it’s shining.

With that bright light I can definitely see what’s going on. Thankfully things in life are that clear sometimes as well…if we’ll actually listen and follow God.

Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭says, “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there. And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”

‭‭

Genesis‬ ‭11‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭says, “Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.”

They should’ve seen that coming!

God had told people to spread out, and here they are defiantly doing their own thing.

Our own way always leads to confusion and a mess.

We all need to let God’s Word show us what to do, and we all need to let God’s Word search us. That’s when we’ll always be on the right side of what’s really going on.

If you’d like to read through the Old Testament with us, today’s reading is Genesis 11.
