Is Christianity too exclusive?

Too exclusive? Nope. Just the only way that actually works!

I love doing a lot of science experiments, but I’ve learned that there’s often only one way to do them that will actually work.

Like this one where the piece of paper wasn’t strong enough to form a bridge. Even folded in half, the double sheet wasn’t strong enough. But the accordion folded paper was more than strong enough to hold up that purple person thing.

We could say, “But I don’t wanna fold the paper,” or “I don’t wanna do it that way,” but that wouldn’t change the results.

Genesis‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬ ‭says, “And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.”

Was the ark too exclusive? Nope. It was the only way out of the flood.

More people could’ve and should’ve gotten on the ark.

More people could’ve and should’ve turned to God.

More people can still turn to God today.

There was no other way out of the flood, and there’s no other way out of our sin but Jesus. He is the way, not one way among many.

Too exclusive? Nope. Just the only way that actually works!

If you’d like to read through the Old Testament with us, today’s reading is Genesis 7.
