Best weather ever???

We all might respond a little differently!

There’s just something peaceful about listening to it snow or sleet! Maybe you enjoy that sound from the comfort of your 70° living room, or maybe you’re like us and enjoy being out in it. Even with my beard constantly freezing, I very much enjoyed the snow!

Some people respond to the snow by charging outside with a sled in hand. Others plot to move to Florida! The same thing can bring a different response in different people.

Genesis‬ ‭26‬:‭26‬-‭28‬ ‭says, “Then Abimelech went to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friends, and Phichol the chief captain of his army. And Isaac said unto them, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate me, and have sent me away from you? And they said, We saw certainly that the LORD was with thee: and we said, Let there be now an oath betwixt us, even betwixt us and thee, and let us make a covenant with thee;”

The king of a secular nation was willing to recognize God’s work and want to be a part of it, but Esau, brought up in Isaac and Rebekah’s home with all that Godly influence, turned his back on God quickly.

Genesis‬ ‭26‬:‭34‬-‭35‬ ‭says, “And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite: which were a grief of mind unto Isaac and to Rebekah.”

How we respond to snow doesn’t matter; how we respond to God means everything.

Today’s Bible reading is Genesis 26.
