Is it all for show?
Another year of wearing this Christmas jacket! It’s a fun thing I like to wear at least once each December as we celebrate the joy and meaning of Christmas. Whether it’s that jacket, my preaching, or daily life, I hope nothing is just for show because content matters more than charisma.
Revelation 13:2-4 says, “And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?”
These are the most godless beings on the planet and yet people will worship them. They’ll say and do things that look and sound good, but they’ll be condemning themselves and all who follow them to eternal punishment.
Don’t be fooled: Not everything that sounds good is good. And not everyone that can draw a crowd is leading people the right way.
We need to guard our influences.
Are you valuing content or just charisma in your influences?
