I love the cold, but I also love a good, warm coat!

Even today with temperatures in the 20s and the windchill way below that, I enjoyed working outside and really did enjoy the cold.

As strange as it might be to love the cold, it would be even stranger to expect to stay warm without doing my part to dress warmly.

Psalm‬ ‭149‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭says, “Let the saints be joyful in glory: Let them sing aloud upon their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a twoedged sword in their hand; To execute vengeance upon the heathen, And punishments upon the people;”

‭‭

Praises in their mouth and a sword in their hand? Sounds strange but actually makes sense.

We get to praise God and be a part of what He is doing. I’m thankful that most of the time that doesn’t involve actually wielding a sword, but gratitude and purpose should motivate us to praise God and be involved in His work.

It really is true that life apart from God is empty, but everything we do for God has value now and eternally.
