Taste and see

Sweet tastes extra sweet after something sour.

Brooklyn disagreed until we actually tried it: A big gulp of lemon juice followed by some cookie, and she seemed to agree that it tasted extra sweet.

1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭says, “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, as newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: if so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”

Psalms 34:8 says, “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”

Compared to God‘s best, everything else should “taste” bad. Anything but God’s best should be easy to recognize as just not good enough for us, not what we want, not what we’re looking for, and not what we’re going to live for.
