I’m like a kid at Christmas when it snows!
Plans may be messed up by snow, but I don’t worry about that. I just get excited (and yes I do shovel and salt sidewalks and driveways and help out wherever I can as well as adjusting plans for my church when necessary…but I still love snow!).
1 John 3:1-2 says, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”
A lot of what we believe as Christians doesn’t make sense to non-Christians, but that’s ok.
Maybe being called a son or a daughter of God sounds weird to you even if you are a Christian. After all, you may be an adult and responsible for yourself. But submitting to God our heavenly Father’s authority is such a privilege.
Kids just get to be excited when it snows. Maybe they miss school. Maybe they get to play. Maybe they have to help shovel the driveway. But adults are responsible. Kids just try to be excited.
That’s a good way to live and a kind of excitement I want for every area of my spiritual life.
