Don’t always get involved
I can do basic stuff on my truck, but for most things, it’s better if I stay out of it and take it to a qualified mechanic (truck’s running fine; just illustrating a point!).
In Psalm 131:1, David says, “LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty:
neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.”
David wanted to be humble and not have any selfish ambitions. He avoided things that he had no business getting involved in.
There are things we just shouldn’t get involved in. Some of those are “above our pay grade” or beyond our experience or abilities. Others are things where our involvement would just make things worse not better (even if we want to help).
Maybe it’s commenting too much on social media, getting involved in other people’s drama, or just having too high of an opinion of our own opinion. Whatever it is for you and me, let’s allow God to show us what to get involved in and what to stay out of.
