Are you tired?

It feels like everyone I talk to this week has been a little extra tired. I’m doing my share of yawning, but Jen, Brooklyn, and I had a fun time walking through Goodwill while Addison was at ballet practice earlier today. I can get tired in a store faster than the ladies in my life (must be a guy thing). My tired face was genuine, but Brooklyn had a blast and gave her best “fake tired” look for the picture.

Sometimes we all get real tired, tired in our spirit, and that’s is a little harder to shake. Thankfully, the Bible speaks to that and offers a helpful and hopeful perspective.

Hebrews 12:2-3 says, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

Jesus went through even more for us than we will ever go through for Him.

Because He knows us and loves us perfectly, He knows how much we can walk through with Him.

Let’s look to Jesus, focus on Him, run toward Him.

That means we need to take our eyes intentionally of other things at times, but Jesus’ perfect example is always there for us to consider and draw strength from.
