I’ve been skipping the Super Bowl halftime show since before that was trending!
While I plan to skip yet another halftime performance this time around, what concerns me most is how people are setting up fake arguments that attempt to cover up genuine concerns about what’s planned.
I personally have never considered the nationality, race, or citizenship of a halftime performer to be an issue at all (and while I don’t speak Spanish, I often can’t understand what some singers are saying in English anyway!🤣), but the content of most halftime shows is inappropriate, so I don’t watch them. Seeing snapshots of Bad Bunny’s videos and lifestyle certainly raises red flags.
In the discussions about this issue, sin is often being ignored while many who are trying to follow God are being labeled racist or hateful simply for calling sin sin. Don’t worry: It won’t last; God will set everything right.
1 Timothy 5:24-25 says, “Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after. Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.”
I’m sure there are people on all sides of this issue who are going about it wrong and bringing in wrong ideas, beliefs, and lifestyles. But blame-shifting doesn’t fool God, and one thing’s for sure: God is keeping track of everything that happens. Sin will be punished. Things done for God will be honored.
God sees everything and gives us the just rewards of our choices. Is that comforting or convicting for you?
