How sweet it is
Melt a few Jolly Ranchers in the microwave, dip a metal straw in the liquid, and blow some tasty bubbles!
Sweet little illustration (pun intended) of some Bible truth.
2 Timothy 4:2-4 says, “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
Do you make sure you only hear what you wanna hear? Do you ever read anything in the Bible that goes against your preferences? Do you seek out things that will make you better even if they have to hurt a little bit first?
Verse 13 says, “The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.”
The parchments were Old Testament Scripture.
The Bible was precious. It was sweet to Paul. It was a priority even though he had it all wrong for a while and had to repent after persecuting followers of Jesus.
Is the Bible sweet to us? Is it precious, important, valued…followed?
How big of a priority is the Bible to you?
