Can you tell the difference?
Do you think these Christmas trees are real or fake inside Lowe’s right now? Maybe you’re just more concerned that there are Christmas decorations already for sale in stores already! Some things are easy to tell whether they are real or fake. But many things are hard to tell whether they are good or bad.
Hebrews 5:12-14 says, “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
“By reason of use”
One big key to growing as a Christian
is to develop the ability to discern good and evil. And one of the best ways to develop that ability is to constantly listen to the Holy Spirit guide us each decision every day. As we do that, we will develop the ability to more and more quickly and accurately tell good from evil.
