Can’t always see what’s really there…but It’s fun to look

I actually interrupted Addison‘s science test today to give her a “brain break” to look at this prism splitting white light into a rainbow. It’s fun to study what’s really going on and what’s really there in the scientific world and it’s even more amazing and definitely more relevant and impactful to study out with the Bible says about things.

Sometimes doctrine is one of those things. It seems like the boring, deep stuff that has nothing to do with our daily lives, but it’s actually the rich truths that should be the foundation and playbook of our daily lives. These are the “top shelf” thoughts that need to guide everything we believe and everything we do.

1 Timothy 4:16 says, “Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.”

Doctrine.

I used to think it was great for anyone to mention the Bible, but now I think it’s great when someone who actually likes the Bible mentions the Bible!

Do we view it as God’s Word? As authoritative?

Do we let Bible doctrines guide our lives? Shape are thinking? Do we even know what the Bible says about the big stuff of life?
