And apparently this is one of them! I saw a video of a guy using a 2-liter bottle of Coke to put out a fire, not just with the liquid soda but also with the carbon dioxide that burst out of the bottle. Unfortunately, I couldn’t open this one fast enough for the spray to go toward the fire, so instead it mostly just soaked me!
Some ideas are good. Others are bad. And sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference before we try them.
Thankfully, the Bible offers a lot of wisdom that can keep us away from the bad ideas and head us down the right path ahead of time.
Colossians 2:3 says this about Jesus: “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
Verse 8 says, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”
We’re surrounded by a bunch of bad ideas. Many of them sound good but go against the Bible and don’t work well for long.
A good science experiment (if that’s what this Coke thing can be called) is fun to test out and see for ourselves, but there are a lot of really bad ideas that are simply better to avoid and take God‘s Word for it.
