College sports are supposed to be competitive; Christianity, not so much!

These results might be a bit biased since they’re on a Florida FB page, but I’ll take 233 votes for the Gators and 0 for the  Hurricanes for Saturday’s game!

Sports competition can be fun, but when we’re just as competitive with each other in our walk with the Lord, there’s a problem. Instead, we should be focused on helping and investing in others, not competing with them.

Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬ ‭says, “Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.”

I love how Paul describes the people he ministered to. Here and elsewhere he shows that it wasn’t a job or just a duty. It was life. It was opportunity. It was done out of love.

We can’t really expect the kind of ministry and impact Paul had if we’re busy competing with people instead of loving them like that.
