Our first picture as a family of 3! Jen recently rearranged some things and put this in our front room. Now I see it every day, and I love the sweet memory taken by our amazing social worker right after we became a family of 3.
I remember our first picture as a family of 4 as well. Wonderful memories!
Hopefully we all have a lot of great memories, and we probably all have some memories we’d like to forget as well!
Spiritually, we all have a past. Hopefully it includes some great memories like when we trusted Christ and other decisions we made in our walk with Him. But I’m sure we all have some memories we’d like to forget as well. The key is that we died to self, die to our present desires, and live for Christ.
Galatians 2:19-20 says, “For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
“that I might live unto God”
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live”
“yet not I, but Christ liveth in me”
We can’t change who we were, but we can allow Jesus to change who we become. We can’t change our past, but we can change what lives on into our future.
