The random things my wife takes pictures of for me to use in these devotionals!
I haven’t seen the newest Superman movie, but it seems like they’re making superheroes more vulnerable. After all, anyone who can’t be hurt or affected by anything isn’t very relatable.
For those of us who aren’t a superhero, God loves to use our weakness to show His strength.
2 Corinthians 8:1-3 says, “Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; how that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves;”
Through the grace of God, they gave beyond their power to the need in Jerusalem. They didn’t need a superpower; they needed God’s supernatural power working through them.
Verse 5 shows how they were able to serve in such an amazing way: “And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.”
If we surrender to God, He will use us in amazing ways that go beyond our own abilities.
