Silly family fun (Jen and I also made some interesting sour faces when it was our turn, but we’ll stick to these pics of the girls!). All the Skittles look normal. You might get one that tastes normal. Or you might get one that’s REALLY sour! Fun candy to try. Horrible way to have to live, constantly wondering if things will end well or turn out sour.
Isaiah 47:8-10 says, “Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: 9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: 10 For thou hast trusted in thy wickedness: thou hast said, None seeth me. Thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee;”
These verses were written about Israel thousands of years ago, but they fit America right now.
Saying yes to any temptation, any pleasure, MIGHT work out…for a little while. But not for long.
Thinking you’re getting away with it might last…until it doesn’t.
Trusting In our own “wisdom” instead of God’s wisdom might sound good, but it’s always a bad idea. Thinking things are acceptable just because most people accept them leads down a dangerous path that cost Israel a lot and is costing America a lot every single day.
We can go our own way, and things MIGHT go ok for a bit. But God’s way is the only way that WILL work out in the end.
