Not one or the other

Brooklyn’s getting into soccer! We’re  grateful for her to have the opportunity to participate in the Camp Wild soccer camp this week with her Uncle Paul. She’s never played much soccer, and it’s a great opportunity for her to give it a try and see if she likes it.

She’s done ballet for years, and for now she can enjoy both. But she knows eventually it may come down to a choice between the 2 because of practice schedules and all.

A lot of things are either/or, one or the other. That’s now so when it comes to God’s mercy and God’s truth. He always, constantly values both.

Psalm‬ ‭85‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭says, “Mercy and truth are met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; And righteousness shall look down from heaven.”

‭‭

“Mercy and truth”

“Righteousness and peace”

Culture constantly wants to say “God is love” and that’s it. But God is righteous and true.

His top priority is spiritual and eternal, not political or social. Yes, He cares enough to help us today, but He also cares so much that He wants to help us for eternity. He wants to use today’s challenges for our good in ways that will amaze us.

Because of God’s mercy and love for us, let’s embrace His truth, the truth, today.
