Learn from other people’s mistakes.

Take my word for it: walking barefoot on pavement is risky, especially least in the summer! Maybe you’ve tried that one for yourself, but thankfully, for a lot of things, we can learn from other people’s mistakes and avoid issues altogether.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬-‭14‬ ‭says, “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.”

Verse 13 is often quoted, and rightly so, but the context makes it even clearer.

If we think we’re good enough, we’re wrong.

If we think we’ve got it, we don’t, at least not on our own.

And we can learn from other people’s mistakes instead of repeating them.

We’re all sinners, hopeless without Jesus. But Jesus not only offers eternal salvation but also daily help and victory.
