It can be wonderful to look back at who we were, but it’s often dangerous to go back to who we used to be
I love looking back at family memories, but I’m also glad we can think back at how we’ve grown in our faith and become more like Jesus over the years. It could be fun to relive some memories, but I’m thankful we don’t ever have to go backward spiritually.
Romans 6:1-2 says, “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Verse 4 says, “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”
Remember who you are now instead of resuscitating who you used to be. Let’s move forward into the new life Jesus offers us every day.
