What if we treated God like we treat people?

“I know I haven’t seen you in a while, but can I borrow $20?”

“I know we haven’t talked in a long time, but I really need your help.”

“Talk to you the next time I have a need!”

Maybe that’s how you treat God. Maybe that’s how you treat people!

Either way, it’s not the best way.

Thankfully we had some wonderful family time at Norlo Park this evening. It was more about time together than where we went or what we did or what we got (tacos can be Memorial Day food, right?!)

It’s important to spend time together just because we value each other.

Psalms 61:1-4 says, “Hear my cry, O God;

attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.”

Great example of praying during a crisis but then also wanting to “abide in thy tabernacle forever.”

Have you talked to God today? If so was it only to ask Him for things or also to grow closer to Him and keep that relationship strong?
