Get what’s coming to you

Is that a happy thought or a scary one?

Addison and Brooklyn were thrilled to see the sun shining today and to finally be able to have Field Day at school (it got rained out twice).

They never felt like they were owed a special day like that, but they sure were looking forward to it!

Sometimes we look forward to what’s coming. Other times we definitely should be glad we don’t have to get what should be coming to us.

Psalm‬ ‭57‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭says, “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, And thy truth unto the clouds.”

Mercy. Not getting what we deserve, not being destined for the eternal punishment that should be coming to us. If we’ve received God’s salvation, we can be thankful we won’t get what’s coming to us. Instead we are free to live a life of gratitude and worship to our amazing, merciful God.
