Not coffee!
I have a bit of a sweet tooth and can enjoy desserts, but adding sugar to coffee just ruins it!
And sugarcoating the truth can absolutely ruin it as well. We need to be kind and wise and ultimately led by the Holy Spirit, but that often means speaking the truth clearly and boldly.
Proverbs 12:17-19 says, “He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: But a false witness deceit. There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: But the tongue of the wise is health. The lip of truth shall be established for ever: But a lying tongue is but for a moment.”
Speak the truth. The alternative is to not show forth righteousness, to not show people the way to Jesus.
We shouldn’t be jerks about it (“like the piercings of a sword”), but we should speak the things that can help people forever not just for a moment.
