If you’re spending time thinking that question over, then you probably are!
I can over-think and over-analyze almost anything, and it’s not always helpful. There’s definitely a time for deep thinking, but there’s also a time to move forward even before we understand everything, a time to stop thinking and start doing.
Acts 1:6-7 says, “When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”
Jesus had risen from the dead and was about to ascend back into heaven. I definitely get the disciples’ desire to know more of the plan, but they needed to obey more, to follow Jesus more, even before they understood more.
If we have to understand everything to move forward, we’ll never move forward in faith.
And if we have to feel in control, we’ll never yield control to God.
But if we do surrender to God, He offers His amazing power and support.
Acts 1:8, the very next verse, says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
