When “one more thing to do” turns into one more way to see God come through

I was looking forward to mowing for the first time this year, but after a busy day, needing to go buy antifreeze for the mower, and then it not starting back up after I picked the girls up from school, mowing started to feel like just one more thing.

The mower soon started again, I had a good time mowing, got it all done in plenty of time, and realized God had it under control.

It’s easy to get so overwhelmed that we feel like we can’t do what we need to do, but let’s never think we’re too busy, stressed, angry, or overwhelmed to come to God.

Luke 22:44-46 says, “And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. 45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow, 46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.”

They were sleeping for sorrow but needing to pray. Have you ever been so sad or discouraged or just plain stressed that all you felt like you could do was sleep? Those are great times to pray (and then maybe take a nap!).

So often “one more thing to do” turns into one more way to see God come through as we take our hearts to Him in prayer.
