The egg sank just like a fresh egg is supposed to. And then a few moments later it floated. What changed? As you might know, we added salt to the water.
Have you ever looked at your relationship with God and wondered what happened? What changed?
It doesn’t have to be a mystery.
Psalms 44:1 says, “We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us,
what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old.”
And verses 4-5 say, “Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.
5 Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.”
What God did for others in the past built their confidence for what God would do for them in the present.
As one song says, “He has done before. He will do again.”
Let’s make sure our confidence is in God for today not just for the past. It’s wonderful to look back to when God saved us, and we need to remember all the times God came through for us. But we also need to stay close to God and look forward to moving ahead with God and for God today.
