You might not like peanut butter as much as Cleo and I do, but sometimes we all need to go deeper to get to the best stuff.
John 4:15-16 says, “The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. 16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.”
As Jesus was talking to the woman at the well (as she’s often called), He had her attention but not her heart at that point. Her interest was piqued at the thought of easier circumstances, but Jesus dug deeper as He aimed for her heart need.
That woman ended up turning to Jesus and told others about Him. I love her friends’ response: “And many more believed because of his own word; And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.” (John 4:41-42)
They heard about Jesus but wanted to go deeper. They wanted to see Jesus for themselves.
Let’s take the time to see Jesus for ourselves today through prayer, the Bible, and that still, small voice inside.
