John 1:10-12 says this about Jesus: “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Not specifically talking about Palm Sunday but kinda sums up Palm Sunday…and modern times sadly.
When Jesus came to earth, most people failed to recognize and accept Him for Who He is.
Even on the first Palm Sunday, people worshiped Jesus but then turned around and crucified Him 5 days later. He didn’t fit their vision of a king who’d bring immediate relief from Roman oppression. They wanted better circumstances but they needed redeemed hearts most of all.
It’s still tragically true that many people will accept the version of Jesus they prefer but ultimately reject Him when He calls them to repentance and salvation.
