Does the light make a difference?

In this hall bathroom, that nightlight stays on even with the overhead light on. The little nightlight doesn’t add much, but it keeps shining.

Reminds me of our trying to let “this little light of mine” shine in the dark world around us. Sometimes it feels like our light isn’t making any difference at all.

David could relate. Psalm‬ ‭39‬:‭2‬ says, ‭“I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.”

Commentator David Guzik writes, “David found it easier to speak nothing than to speak wisely.”

I get it that for sure, but if we don’t speak up and speak good into the world around us, who will?

Silence wasn’t golden; it was deafening! David knew he needed to speak up and speak good into people’s lives. And so do we. It makes a difference.
