Saw one of our girls’ Easter baskets in the offering plate today. I don’t think they were intentionally offering their candy to Jesus, but it did make me smile!
John 7:16-18 says, “Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.”
Jesus set a perfect example for us to follow. He is God, yet He was still willing to follow God the Father.
When we give it all to God and completely submit to Him and follow His plan, every part of our lives will be His to guide and use. We can try to go off on our own way, but that is always a mistake. When we give it all to God, He leads us every step of the way.
We don’t have to put all of our Easter eggs (or all of our money) in the offering plate, but I hope and pray that we’ll give everything we have to our Savior and let Him lead us.
