What’s it take for us to see the light?

Loved this view while on a run recently! That sunlight really looked like a path that I could follow. Sometimes the light isn’t quite as clear and easy to follow, but sometimes it really is.

Luke 16 has some great things to say about how we can follow the light.

Verses 14‬-‭15‬ ‭say, “And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”

Those Pharisees wanted to look good instead of wanting to be right and do right. We need to respond to our need instead of defensively excusing it. It’s a good thing when a Bible verse or a sermon steps on our toes. That means we can learn and grow.

Verse 31 says, “And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

‭‭

If we won’t follow what we know, we shouldn’t expect to learn more. God has shown us the next step or two. Let’s humbly obey those and do the next right thing even if it means making some changes in our own heart and life.
