Our Christian school’s gym is being completely renovated (pray for the workers taking up the original floor—I grew up playing, sweating, and no doubt occasionally bleeding on that floor so it’s probably gross!).
Chapel is usually in the gym, but instead of canceling, we get to walk down to the church’s auditorium. I’m thankful for a school that wants young people to get as much as of God as they can, not as little as they have to. That’s a decision that’ll work out well in the long-run.
I wish all of our decisions were headed in that positive of a direction!
Psalms 36:2 and 4 say, “For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful. 4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.”
Iniquity and sin will become hateful to those around us, and sooner or later to us as well. It’s much better to hate sin beforehand so we’ll avoid getting involved in it.
It’s said that fish and visitors stink in 3 days. Probably depends on the visitors, but fish I can guarantee!
Give it time and we’ll see the results of our choices. Much better to think ahead, make Godly choices, and be able to look forward to those results.
