Saw that “then” picture from 3 years ago in Virginia just after I finished some work today on our church’s playground equipment in Pennsylvania. Pastor John did a great job cleaning up that playground set in VA, and, fun fact, Jen actually found both of these playground sets!
VA or PA, we love being involved in ministry and seeing God use playgrounds and other things to reach and impact people. It can be a lot of work, but when we do what we do for Jesus, progress is possible.
Jesus’ death and resurrection made new life possible and unlocked a life that’s worth living. Luke 9:30-31 says this from during Jesus’ transfiguration: “And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: 31 Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.”
Accomplish—that word really stands out to me. Jesus would accomplish His death at Jerusalem.
It would seem like defeat but actually won the ultimate victory.
His death made our real life possible. Any progress we make in life or ministry is all built on and based on what Jesus did for us.
