The angle toward the sun or away from it makes all the difference during these cold, sunny days.
In much the same way turning toward Jesus or away from Him makes all the difference as well.
One way many people fear turning away from Jesus is by committing the unpardonable sin. There’s so much mystery there; hopefully this bit of Bible truth will be a help.
In Mark 3:28-29, Jesus says, “Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: 29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:”
The unpardonable sin is rejecting (or even mocking) the Holy Spirit and His work, and the primary work of the Holy Spirit is to draw people to Jesus.
As one writer puts it, “The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven—not because it is a sin ‘too big’ for God to forgive, but because it is an attitude of heart that cares nothing for God’s forgiveness. It never has forgiveness because it never wants forgiveness God’s way.”
So it’s not something a Christian could do, and it really comes down to a person’s decision about Jesus which is what salvation is all about anyway.
Salvation is available to all, but each person needs to make a choice what they will do with Jesus. The question isn’t “Can I turn to Jesus?” It’s “Will I turn to Jesus?”
And that applies to all of us as well for daily life, not just salvation.
