Some people like salt and pepper together, but salt and SUGAR?!?

Addison was so excited to eat those fries at a fun restaurant in NYC last weekend…until she accidentally poured a bunch of sugar on them instead of salt! The restaurant was great and gave her a new plate of fries, but they got salt, not sugar!

It’s easy to think our only job is to be salty—to speak the truth boldly—but we also need to speak the truth in love. Mary Poppins said that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, and sometimes a little bit of sweetness can help the message we are sharing as Christians come across in a much more Biblical and Christ-like way.

Notice how John 1 describes Jesus: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” (Verse 14)

Jesus was full of grace and truth.

And verse 17 says, “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.”

Grace and truth. Both are needed. People need to hear the truth but with grace that shows them the way up instead of beating them down.
