Definitely nothing impressive about today’s run. It was hilly which makes the time a little better, but still slow.
I am seriously considering running a full marathon in April. I recently ran my third half marathon and want to train for the full 26.2. Some people wonder why anyone would do that. For me, it’s really about seeing if I can. I won’t win any awards for my time, but the challenge is exciting.
1 Thessalonians 2:7-9 says, “But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: so being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us. For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.”
Paul was invested in those people. He wasn’t looking for easy. He was looking to see them grow and to have influence into their lives.
Investing in people and seeing God use us to impact them is difficult. Messy. But definitely worth it.
Sometimes I start to question if I’m doing the right thing when things get difficult, but maybe we need to start questioning when everything is always easy.
