How mature are you?

From cotton candy to carnival games, ice cream, facepainting, and swimming, our options on the Lido deck for our last afternoon on the cruise were pretty great!

Anyone who knows me knows I like to be silly and have fun sometimes (probably wouldn’t have survived in youth ministry otherwise!)

Sometimes I think if we’re “too mature” to participate in good, clean fun then we aren’t very mature at all.

And there are much more important tests of our maturity as well.

Lamentations 3:39-40 says, “Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? 40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD.“

Part of maturity is taking criticism and responding rightly. It’s definitely easy for me to get defensive or make excuses, but that’s only makes things worse.

When God sends some correction our way (including when He sends that correction through a person), let’s not complain. Instead let’s search our hearts and lives for ways to grow and improve.
