Are you a risk taker?

I never really thought about it until recently, but now our family has a habit of never walking across those sorts of grates just in case they could fall in. Maybe you’re like me and you’re quite the “daredevil,” quite the “risk taker” and you’d walk right across that grate😳🤣. Whether you live on the “wild side” like that or not, there are times where we should set caution aside and just go for things boldly.

2 Kings 13:18-19 says, “And he said, Take the arrows. And he took them. And he said unto the king of Israel, Smite upon the ground. And he smote thrice, and stayed. 19 And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.”

At first that can kind of sound unfair. After all Joash didn’t know what was at stake as he smote those arrows on the ground. But Joash did know that it was something he was supposed to do, something God wanted him to do. So he should have given his all.

If it’s something God wants us to do, it matters a lot, and God can use it in some big ways.

Let’s give our best, our all, at whatever God has for us today even if it seems insignificant.
