I think maybe all wet floor signs should be shaped like banana peels! Kinda adds something to the warning.
The Bible warns us about sin and its awful effects. It shows us again and again how a little bit of sin can lead us right toward destruction if we don’t deal with it first.
King Solomon was supernaturally wise but tragically allowed one weakness, wrong choices in one area, to bring him down.
1 Kings 11:1 “But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;”
That one area of Solomon’s life would lead him down a path that ended in his building temples for false gods and his own heart drifting away from God.
Let’s stop our own “one thing” from bringing us down today.
Wrong relationships, worry, a bad temper, greed, jealousy, speaking our mind instead of the mind of Christ…they can all bring us down, but they’re also all covered by the blood of Jesus. We can overcome any temptation and have victory through Jesus.
