Catapult your influence!

We used nothing but the random supplies we had around and set out to build the best catapult we could. Good design but never once launched the ball successfully. It did tip over a bunch of times though!🤣 Fun time with the girls, but I think our catapult needs some extra work if it’s going to launch anything.

Reading through chapters in the Bible like Joshua 19 can seem hard to relate to and hard to get anything out of. For example, verses 1-2 say, ““And the second lot came forth to Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah. And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,”

But even in verses about dividing the Promised Land, there are relevant lessons for our lives today.

The land given to each tribe gave them the opportunity to launch their influence.

A tribe’s land allowed them to offer cities to the Levites (to support God’s work) as well as cities of refuge (to support mercy and justice).

Possessing the land allowed them to provide for their families for generations to come (as long as they also taught their families to follow God).

Possessing the land also gave them influence in the surrounding areas.

God gave them all that land, but sadly they never took full possession of all of it.

God has given us many opportunities to influence our friends, our family, our neighbors, our towns, our workplaces…

What are we doing with those opportunities?

It’s a great time of year here at Easter to invite people to church and share with them how Jesus died for them. What are you doing with your influence? Will you allow God to bless your influence and catapult it forward to reach a lot of people with the Gospel?
