I do know what a millstone is, but it’s fun to joke.
But some things are serious.
Matthew 18:4-6 says, “Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5 And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. 6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.
A person needs be humble like a little child in order to truly benefit from Jesus. And Jesus watches out for all of His children.
As one commentator describes how we often view humility as a bad thing: “It is easy to actually despise the humble. They are the losers; the kind who will never make it in our competitive and aggressive and get-ahead world. Yet when we despise humble people, we also despise Jesus.”
What do you need to remember throughout the day so that you can you stay humble today?
Who can you value today even if it costs you some time, effort, or money? After all, Jesus is worth it.
