Brooklyn is strong. She had no trouble holding that weight…for a while. Then she admitted, “It’s hard with one hand!” Sometimes the helpful “other hand” we need comes from advice we might not even realize we need.
Don’t you just hate it when someone tries to give you advice when you’re confident you don’t need their assistance? Those are times when it’s easy to miss out on help that we really do need.
The New Testament puts it this way: “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” (1 Corinthians 10:12)
We can help others notice when they are leaning over the edge about to fall into sin. And they can help us as well…if we’ll let them.
It’s often just when we think we don’t need any help or advice that we need it the most.
