The trick is…

Apparently something I’m still learning! A couple more tries did go better, especially with something in the cups, plates, and bowls.

As with a lot of things, the trick is NOT to never fail. The trick is to get back up when we fail. To try again. And in the Christian life, we have some great help.

Proverbs 24:16 says, “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again:

but the wicked shall fall into mischief.”

It’s unfortunate when a follower of Jesus falls into sin and then stays down. Jesus is right there to help us back up every time we fail.

When a woman was caught in sin and brought to Jesus, Jesus challenged her accusers to let whoever was without sin cast the first stone at her.  When all of them left, “Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11)

Jesus never approves of sin. But He also offers forgiveness.

It’s sad when a lost person rejects that offer!

And it’s sad when a Christian lives as if Jesus said, “Go, and sin as much as you want.”

The trick isn’t to be perfect. The trick is to keep growing a little bit more every single day.
